The Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics collide in a pivotal Game 5 at the TD Garden on Tuesday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t panic when they fell behind 2-0 in the series and now they’re the team with momentum after levelling the series with a 104-102 win in Game 4. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Khris Middleton added 23 points while Jabari Parker chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Bucks shot 52 percent from the field and 10 of 23 from the three-point line as they dominated and outscored the Celtics by 51-35 in the first half, but the game tightened up in the second half and it was Malcolm Brogdon who saved the day with a clutch three to give the Bucks the lead with just 33.5 seconds left in the game.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics will be kicking themselves as they just couldn’t get over the hump despite rallying all the way back from a 20-point deficit. Jaylen Brown led the team with 34 points on 13 of 24 shooting, Jayson Tatum added 21 points while Marcus Morris chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Celtics shot 41 percent from the field and 10 of 29 from the three-point line but they just fell short in a game that could have easily gone either way. The Celtics needed more production from Terry Rozier who was limited to just 10 points one three of 12 shooting and Greg Monroe who played just five minutes despite averaging 13.5 points in the last two games.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 games against a team with a winning record, 1-6 ATS in their last seven Conference Quarterfinals games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Celtics are 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games, 7-1 ATS in their last eight Conference Quarterfinals games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 13-3-1 in the last 17 meetings, the Bucks are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Boston and 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
Antetoukounmpo and Middleton needed their supporting crew to step up and they were able to do that in Games 1 and 2. However, while the Bucks have all the momentum, their role players didn’t play well on the road in the first two games of the series which is a concern. The Celtics are a well-coached team and I expect them to bounce back as they are 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven meetings against the Bucks. I think those trends continue in this one as the Celtics win by single digits.
