The Atlanta Hawks play host to the Miami Heat at the Philips Arena on Saturday night.
The Miami Heat will be looking to avoid a third straight defeat after falling to the Hornets in a 125-113 road loss on Tuesday. Dwyane Wade led the team in scoring with 19 points off the bench, Hassan Whiteside added 16 points with 12 rebounds while Josh Richardson chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Heat shot 47 percent from the field and 11 of 28 from the three-point line but for the second night in a row, they let themselves down defensively as they allowed the Hornets 125 points after allowing 123 points to the Kings on Monday. In fact, the Heat trailed by 10 points at halftime and by as many as 20 points in the third quarter before they poured in 40 points in the fourth quarter to keep the final score respectable.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks will be hoping to avoid a fifth straight loss after falling to the Kings in a 146-115 blowout on Thursday. Jeremy Lin led the team in scoring with 23 points off the bench, Trae Young and Kent Bazemore each had 14 points while Alex Len chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Hawks shot 48 percent from the field and eight of 31 from the three-point line as they trailed by five points going into halftime, but there was no sticking with the upstart Kings in the third quarter where they were outscored by 46-23.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Hawks are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games following a double-digit loss at home, 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings, the Heat are 8-2-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Atlanta.
The Heat could really do with a win as they’ve struggled in their last two losses so a matchup with the Hawks could be just what the doctor ordered as the Hawks have lost four straight by double-digits. Goran Dragic is listed as day to day but he is a chance to suit up as he is expected to go through shootaround on Saturday. The Heat have covered in five of the last six meetings in Atlanta and I think that trend continues in this one.
