The Boston Celtics look to stay hot when they battle the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center on Modnay night.

The Boston Celtics have won six of their first nine games of the season but they will be looking to bounce back after having their four-game win streak snapped by the Pacers in a 102-101 road loss on Saturday. Marcus Morris led the team with 23 points of the bench, Kyrie Irving added 18 points with three assists while Jayson Tatum and Al Horford each scored 14 points. As a team, the Celtics shot just 43 percent from the field and an impressive 19 of 46 from the three-point line but when the game went down to the wire, it was the Pacers’ Victor Oladipo who drained the game-winning three with just 3.4 seconds left on the clock.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been red-hot to start the season as they’ve won eight of their first nine games and they will be gunning for a fifth straight win after blowing past the Jazz in a 103-88 home win on Saturday. Gary Harris led the team with 20 points, Jamal Murray added 19 points while Nikola Jokic racked up seven points with 10 rebounds and 16 assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 49 percent from the field and nine of 28 from the three-point line as they trailed the Jazz by five points after three quarters before going on a decisive 18-0 run in the fourth quarter to pull away late.

Looking at the betting trends, the Celtics are 2-7 ATS in their last nine road games, 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games following a loss and 1-7 ATS in their last eight road games against a team with a winning home record. The Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a win.

Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings, the road team is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings and the underdog is 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings.

The Celtics have been one of the more consistent teams in the league and they could easily be riding a five-game win streak had it not been for the late-game heroics from the Pacers’ Oladipo. However, the Nuggets might be the hottest team in the Western Conference as they’ve lost just one game while being the only team to beat Golden State so far. I’m tempted to take the Celtics but they’re just 2-7 ATS in their last nine road games so I’ll stick with the Nuggets who are still undefeated at home.
