The Charlotte Hornets travel to the Quicken Loans Arena to battle the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.
The Charlotte Hornets have been in decent form with four wins in their last six games and they will be looking to build on Sunday’s 113-103 road win at Detroit. Kemba Walker all starters with 24 points and eight assists, Tony Parker provided the spark off the bench with 24 points himself while Cody Zeller chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Hornets shot 50 percent from the field and 11 of 28 from the three-point line as they leaned on the veteran Parker who scored all of his 24 points in just 28 minutes off the bench. Defensively, the Hornets could do little to slow down the Pistons’ Andre Drummond who poured in 23 points with 22 rebounds, but they did benefit from the ejection of Blake Griffin in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still stuck on just one win for the season and they will be hoping to snap a five-game skid after falling just short in a 99-98 road loss at Chicago on Saturday. Tristan Thompson led the team in scoring with 22 points and 12 rebounds, Colin Sexton and Rodney Hood each had 20 points while Jordan Clarkson chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 42 percent from the field and eight of 21 from the three-point line as they rallied back from an early 16-point deficit, but they just couldn’t find a bucket when they really needed it, going scoreless in the final 1:12 of a one-point game.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hornets are 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games, 6-1 ATS in their last seven against the Eastern Conference and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Cavaliers are 19-42-1 ATS in their last 62 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings, the Hornets are 2-7-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and 1-4-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Cleveland.
The Hornets are starting to build a bit of momentum with four wins in their last six games so they’re rightfully road favorites against the Cavaliers in this one. The Hornets are also 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games and 6-2 ATS so I like these trends to continue as I think Walker has a big night against the rookie Sexton and the league-worst Cavaliers in this one.
