The Indiana Pacers and the Utah Jazz duke it out at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Monday night.
The Utah Jazz have been in solid form as they’ve won four of their last six games and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Celtics in a 98-86 road win on Saturday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 28 points and six assists, Ricky Rubio added 20 points while Rudy Gobert chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds. As a team, the Jazz shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the three-point line but this win was about defense as they held the Celtics to just 38 percent shooting from the field and five of 33 shooting from the three-point line. The Jazz were ruthless in the third quarter as they held the Celtics to just 17 points and they never looked threatened after taking a 19-point lead early in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have split their last six games but they will be looking for a third straight victory after beating the Hawks in a 97-89 home win on Saturday. Bojan Bogdanovic led the team in scoring with 22 points, Darren Collison added 12 points with five assists while Thaddeus Young chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Pacers shot just 39 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the three-point line but after falling behind by nine points going into halftime, the Pacers clicked into another gear and dominated the second half by 50-33 to run away with it despite getting just two points from Victor Oladipo who left in the first quarter with a knee injury.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a win, 1-4 ATS in their last five against a team above .600 and 19-9 ATS in their last 28 road games against a team with a winning home record. The Pacers are 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win, 4-1 ATS in their last five home games against a team with a winning road record and 1-4 ATS in their last five against the Western Conference.
Head to head, the underdog is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings and the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Indiana.
The Pacers have started to gain a bit of momentum with a couple of wins on the trot but they could be without their leader in Oladipo who is currently listed as questionable for this one. With that being said, the Jazz are starting to heat up and they are coming off a big road win over the Celtics so I like their chances of staying hot with another win here.
