The New York Knicks pay a visit to the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday night.

The New York Knicks started the season with 14 losses in their first 18 games but they’re suddenly aiming for a season-high fourth straight win after taking down the Grizzlies in a 103-98 road win on Sunday. Tim Hardaway Jr. led the team in scoring with 22 points on six of 16 shooting, Enes Kanter added 21 points with 26 rebounds and three assists while Emmanuel Mudiay chipped in with 17 points and four assists. As a team, the Knicks shot just 37 percent from the field and eight of 22 from the 3-point line but they were able to rally in the third quarter to overcome a 13-point deficit and win it for Coach David Fizdale who was fired by the Grizzlies a year ago. With the win, New York improved to 7-14 overall and 4-8 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in strong form with six wins in their last eight games and they will be gunning for a third straight victory after taking down the Suns in a 118-107 home win on Sunday. Andre Drummond led the team with 19 points, 16 rebounds and five steals, Reggie Jackson added 19 points with eight assists while Langston Galloway chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot 46 percent from the field and 16 of 41 from the 3-point line as they were lackadaisical in their play for most of the game until the fourth quarter where they went on a decisive 15-3 run to run away late. With the win, Detroit improved to 10-7 overall and 6-3 at home.

Looking at the betting trends, the Knicks are 8-17-1 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a winning record, 2-6 ATS in their last eight against the Eastern Conference and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The Pistons are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record, 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games against a team below .400 and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the home team is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings, the under is 13-6 in the last 19 meetings in Detroit and the favorite is 22-8 ATS in the last 30 meetings.

The Knicks have started to turn things around with three wins on the trot and they will be feeling pretty good after taking down the in-form Grizzlies on Sunday. The Pistons have been flying under the radar lately but they’ve taken full advantage of an easy stretch in their schedule to win six of their last eight games. This one could go either way, but the Pistons have taken care of business against the lesser teams in the league and I expect that trend to continue in this one as I’m not sold on the Knicks.
