The Golden State Warriors pay a visit to the Phoenix Suns at the Talking Stick Resort Arena on Monday night.
The Golden State Warriors have been a little out of sorts as they’ve split their last six games but they will be feeling much better after snapping a two-game skid with a 115-105 win at Portland on Saturday. Klay Thompson broke out of a shooting slump to lead the team with 32 points on 12 of 21 shooting, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant each scored 25 points while Kevon Looney chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Warriors shot 50 percent from the field and 12 of 25 from the 3-point line as they weathered a 40-point performance from Damian Lillard to come away with the much-needed win to improve to 24-13 overall and 9-8 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have lost four of their last five games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling to the Nuggets in a 122-118 home loss on Saturday. DeAndre Ayton led the team with 33 points, 14 rebounds and four steals, Devin Booker added 27 points with eight assists while TJ Warren chipped in with 22 points and five steals. As a team, the Suns shot 53 percent from the field and 11 of 29 from the 3-point line but they just left themselves too much ground to make up after falling behind by 25 points in the second quarter. With the loss, Phoenix dropped to 9-28 overall and 5-13 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record, 3-13 ATS in the last 16 meetings and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a loss, 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 8-1 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Head to head, the under is 14-6 ATS in the last 20 meetings in Phoenix, the Warriors are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Phoenix.
The Warriors haven’t been at their best lately so an upset here isn’t completely out of the question, but the Warriors are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings against the Suns and they won the last meeting by 123-103 back on Oct 22. This is a game I’d rather stay away from as the Warriors have been a little shaky lately, but in the end, I expect them to win this one and win it easily as the Suns are back in another slump.
