The Brooklyn Nets and the Washington Wizards duke it out at the Capital One Arena on Wednesday.
The Brooklyn Nets have been on a nice run lately as they've won eight of their past 13 games, but they will be hoping to bounce back after falling painfully short to the Magic in a 115-113 home loss on Monday. Spencer Dinwiddie led the team with 24 points and eight assists on nine of 20 shooting, Caris LeVert added 19 points with eight assists, Garrett Temple added 18 points with five assists while Jarrett Allen chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Nets shot 47 percent from the field and 16 of 37 from the 3-point line as they held the Magic to just 41 points in the first half. However, the second half was a completely different story as they allowed the Magic to pour in 74 points to escape with the win despite leading by as many as 19 points.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in rough shape as they've lost four of their last six games and they will be hoping to end a three-game skid after falling just short to the Bucks in a 137-134 overtime home loss on Monday. Bradley Beal has been in rare form and he led the way once again with 55 points on 19 of 33 shooting, Shabazz Napier added 27 points with seven assists off the bench while Ish Smith chipped in with 13 points and seven assists. As a team, the Wizards shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble for most of the game, until the Wizards rallied behind Beal to force overtime. However, with the game on the line, the Wizards just couldn't find Beal when they needed him most.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team below. 400 and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Wizards are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games against a team with a road record below .400.
Head to head, the under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Washington and the Nets are 4-14 ATS in the last 18 meetings in Washington.
The Nets have been pretty good lately, especially considering all the lineup changes they've had to go through this season. The Wizards haven't been winning games, but it's definitely not the fault of Beal who has been in ridiculous form lately. The Nets are just 4-14 ATS in the last 18 meetings in Washington, but they are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and I think they should be good enough to get the win here.
