The Oklahoma City Thunder play host to the Sacramento Kings at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Thursday.
The Sacramento Kings have been in strong form lately as they've won nine of their last 13 games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after making light work of the lowly Warriors in a 112-94 road win on Tuesday. Harrison Barnes and De'Aaron Fox each scored 21 points, Buddy Hield added 19 points off the bench while Bogdan Bogdanovic chipped in with 17 points on six of 10 shooting. As a team, the Kings shot 52 percent from the field and 13 of 30 from the 3-point line as they jumped out to an early 11-point lead in the first quarter, before pulling away in the fourth quarter where they outscored the Warriors by 31-21 to make it a blowout. Overall, it was a solid win for the Kings, but it could've been by a bigger margin as De'Aaron Fox shot just four of nine from the free throw line, while Kent Bazemore shot just three of eight from the charity stripe.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in great shape as they've won 13 of their last 16 games and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after escaping Chicago with a 124-122 road win on Tuesday. Danilo Gallinari led the team with 24 points on eight of 16 shooting, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dennis Schroder each scored 21 points while Chris Paul chipped in with 19 points and nine assists. As a team, the Thunder shot a healthy 55 percent from the field and 14 of 30 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in cruise control after taking a 17-point lead into halftime. However, the Thunder had to regroup in the fourth quarter after the Bulls came back to take the lead.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games, 11-24-1 ATS in their last 36 games following a win of more than 10 points and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Thunder are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games against a team with a losing record, 19-8 ATS in their last 27 games following a win and 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Oklahoma City, the Kings are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and the Kings are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Oklahoma City.
The Kings have been quietly playing some of their best basketball of the season and you could say the same for the Thunder who are coming into this one with plenty of momentum. The Kings are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and they are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Oklahoma City. The Thunder are deserved favorites at home, but I just get the feeling that this one could be going down to the wire. I still think the Thunder get the win at home, but I think the value is with the Kings and the points here.
