The Washington Wizards and the Utah Jazz collide at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Friday night.
The Washington Wizards have been in decent shape as they've split their last 10 games and they will be looking to build some momentum after sneaking past the Nets in a 110-106 home win on Wednesday. Bradley Beal led the team with 30 points, five rebounds and five assists, Rui Hachimura added 17 points while Davis Bertans chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Wizards shot 42 percent from the field and 15 of 39 from the 3-point line as they jumped out of the gates to an early 18-point lead, but they found themselves in a battle right till the end as the Nets rallied to reclaim the lead. Fortunately, the Wizards were able to hold the Nets to just 22 points in the fourth quarter to escape with the narrow win.
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been in a slump as they've lost nine of their last 13 games and they will be hoping to snap a four-game skid after getting routed by the Celtics in a 114-103 home loss on Wednesday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 37 points and five assists, Mike Conley added 15 points while Royce O'Neale chipped in with 14 points, but no other player finished in double figures. As a team, the Jazz shot 44 percent from the field and 12 of 40 from the 3-point line which was good enough to hang with the Celtics until the fourth quarter where they managed just 21 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 5-1 ATS in their last six games as an underdog, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games following a win. The Jazz are 0-4 ATS in their last four home games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the under is 15-7 in the last 22 meetings overall and the Wizards are 1-7 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.
The Wizards have been in decent shape lately as they’ve been riding the hot hand of Beal and they are coming into this one with plenty of momentum after beating the Nets on Wednesday. The Jazz were rolling at stages this season, but they’ve been ice-cold lately and will take any win they can get after getting routed by the Celtics in their own building on Wednesday. The Jazz have simply been in a funk lately, but the Wizards are only 1-7 ATS in the last eight meetings overall and I think that trend continues as the Jazz get the much-needed win here.
