The Line: Los Angeles Lakers -13 -- Over/Under: 219
The Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Lakers duke it out at the Staples Center on Tuesday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape as they've won six of their past nine games, but they will be hoping to bounce back after falling short to the Clippers in a 136-130 road loss on Sunday. Shake Milton led the way with a career-high 39 points and five assists, Tobias Harris added 25 points with four assists while Alec Burks chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the 76ers shot 50 percent from the field and a sizzling 21 of 43 from the 3-point line as they jumped out to a nice start with 39 points in the first quarter, but they left themselves too much ground to make up after getting outscored by 38-24 in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in great form as they've won 10 of their last 12 games and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Pelicans in a 122-113 road win on Sunday. LeBron James led the team with a triple-double of 34 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists, Kyle Kuzma added 20 points while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot 51 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they wrestled with the Pelicans for three tightly contested quarters, before pulling away in the fourth quarter where they held the Pelicans to just 19 points.
Head to head, the under is 9-4-1 in the last 14 meetings overall, the 76ers are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Los Angeles and the 76ers are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
Josh Richardson suffered a concussion on Sunday and is out for Tuesday's game, so the 76ers will be even more shorthanded with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid already missing. Anthony Davis is dealing with a sore right knee and is listed as questionable for Tuesday. I expect the 76ers to put up a good fight despite being so shorthanded, but in the end, I think the LeBron and the Lakers get the over the line in this one.
