The Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers meet Monday night in a NBA2K19 simulation matchup.
The Miami Heat lacked a star player in this video game, but they relied on depth and had nine players with an overall rating of at least 76 overall. Hassan Whiteside was the best player on this years Heat team with an 86 overall, while Goran Dragic had an overall rating of 84 and Dwyane Wade was rocking a 79 overall rating. The Miami Heat lacked the outside shooting to be a serious threat in this game, but they have many solid players who play the game the right way and get after it defensively. It may be tough at times to score the basketball with this Heat team, but the production won’t change much when the bench comes in and the physical play defensively can keep them in it most nights.
The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the more stacked teams in this video game with Joel Embiid, Jimmy Butler and Ben Simmons all holding ratings of at least 87 overall. Tobias Harris is rated 82 overall and JJ Redick is one of the better shooters in the game with a 79 rating overall. The 76ers don’t exactly have great bench depth, but they have a starting five that’s as good as any in the league and they can get the job done at both ends of the court. Overall, the 76ers have 12 different players ranked at least 75 overall. This 76ers roster is easily one of the best in the video game and made them a strong choice in online play.
The Philadelphia 76ers are far and away the better team in this game and could run away with things if everything breaks right. However, as we saw a few days ago when the Heat played the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami does a good job of hanging around with above-average defense and scrappy play. Also, I'm not thrilled about laying massive chalk in these computer simulations where anything can happen and we've seen big underdogs win outright all the time. I'm going to take my chances with the free buckets.
