Costa Caribe and Brumas Jinotega meet Saturday night in Torneo Carlos Ulloa Nicaraguan basketball action.
Costa Caribe look to keep the ball rolling while building on a solid seven-game winning streak. Fritz Cox is averaging 15.4 points and 5.8 rebounds while Vansdell Thomas is averaging 11.1 points and 4.7 rebounds. Sydney Obando-Castandea is grabbing 4.8 rebounds and Elkin Romero-Moncada is dishing 0.6 assists. Costa Caribe is shooting 26.4 percent from beyond the arc and 42.9 percent from the free throw line. Costa Caribe is allowing 25.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.3 rebounds per game.
Brumas Jinotega also looks for a victory here to build on a seven-game winning streak. Brumas Jinotega is averaging 88.3 points on 55.2 percent shooting and allowing 64.8 points on 44.8 percent shooting. Arnulfo Mendoz is averaging 16 points and 3.2 rebounds while Emilio Mendoza is averaging 13.5 points and 4.3 assists. Franklin Omier is the third double-digit scorer and Troy Humphreys is grabbing 7.7 rebounds. Brumas Jinotega is shooting 24.8 percent from beyond the arc and 67.7 percent from the free throw line. Brumas Jinotega is allowing 28.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 39.5 rebounds per game.
There's no match history between these two teams.
This is going to be a hell of a matchup between two teams that can't seem to lose and are both getting after it on the defensive end. The difference for me is that Brumas Jinotega has been a bit sharper on the offensive end and shoots a far better percentage from the field. Averaging 86.5 points in their last four games, it's going to be hard for Costa Caribe to keep up if Brumas Jinotega continues this offensive groove they've been on lately. Costa Caribe just does not shoot the ball as well to keep up four quarters with that avalanche. Brumas Jinotega is just too deep, too consistent and too explosive.
In a game that could go either way, I'll lay the bucket with the slightly sharper Brumas Jinotega.
