The Line: Matagalpa -6.5 -- Over/Under: 162.5
Tipitapa and Matagalpa meet Sunday night in Torneo Carlos Ulloa Nicaraguan basketball action.
Tipitapa look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last six games. Tipitapa is averaging 84.6 points on 50.4 percent shooting and allowing 77.2 points on 50.1 percent shooting. Harold Barberena is averaging 26 points, 3.1 steals and 3.2 assists while Roberto Rocha is averaging 10.8 rebounds, 3.9 turnovers and 0.8 blocks. Tipitapa is shooting 32 percent from beyond the arc and 61.3 percent from the free throw line. Tipitapa is allowing 24.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 35.8 rebounds per game.
Matagalpa look to keep the ball rolling while building on their 10-game winning streak. Matagalpa is averaging 89.4 points on 51.4 percent shooting and allowing 71.7 points on 47.4 percent shooting. Dayton Cacho is averaging 18.7 points and 3.2 assists while Rudy Taylor is averaging 17 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Kevin Andino is the third double-digit scorer and Raul Mendoza is gabbing 5.9 rebounds. Matagalpa is shooting 30 percent from beyond the arc and 57.8 percent from the free throw line. Matagalpa is allowing 23 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.9 rebounds per game.
There's no match history between these two teams.
There was no line at the time this article was published and lines for Nicaraguan basketball seem to be coming out very late, so who knows when and if one will be released. With that said, Matagalpa remains arguably the best team in the league and just smoked Boaco by 39 points. Matagalpa has yet to lose a contest and has produced a combined 204 points in their last two games. I'm not trying to step in front of that. Tipitapa has been hit or miss the last couple of weeks and has had issues on the defensive side in back to back losses. Tipitapa only seems to win games in shootouts and it's hard to beat above-average teams when playing that up and down style. Matagalpa should have their way offensively in this contest and that's going to lead to a lot of good things for the unbeaten.
Matagalpa stays hot and gets another comfortable victory.
