The Line: Matagalpa +5 -- Over/Under: 150.5
San Isidro and Matagalpa meet Wednesday night in Torneo Carlos Ulloa Nicaraguan basketball action.
San Isidro look to stay hot after winning nine of their last 10 games. San Isidro is averaging 78.5 points on 48.5 percent shooting and allowing 58.8 points on 41.5 percent shooting. Francisco Garth is averaging 13.4 points, 2.6 steals, 0.7 blocks, two turnovers and 8.5 rebounds while Romario Ponce is averaging 3.8 assists. San Isidro is shooting 31.6 percent from beyond the arc and 56.9 percent from the free throw line. San Isidro is allowing 26.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 39.1 rebounds per game.
Matagalpa look for another victory after winning nine of their last 10 games. Matagalpa is averaging 83.5 points on 51.7 percent shooting and allowing 65.5 points on 46.4 percent shooting. Dayton Cacho is averaging 18.7 points and 3.2 assists while Rudy Taylor is averaging 17 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Kevin Andino is the third double-digit scorer and Raul Mendoza is gabbing 5.9 rebounds. Matagalpa is shooting 30.2 percent from beyond the arc and 57.9 percent from the free throw line. Matagalpa is allowing 22.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 43.9 rebounds per game.
There's no match history between these two teams.
There was no line at the time this article was published and lines for Nicaraguan basketball seem to be coming out very late, so who knows when and if one will be released. With that said, you can make a case for either of these teams given their current form and the fact they're two of the hotter teams in the league. I do give the edge to Matagalpa because they're more consistent offensively and shoot better from all areas of the court. Matagalpa has topped 100 points in two of their last three games and have surpassed 100 points in four of their last seven games overall. As good as San Isidro has been, they don't have the horses offensively to keep up if Matagalpa is going to make their shots at their season percentages.
Look for Matagalpa to win a competitive contest that could come down to the wire.
