The Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat meet Wednesday night in a NBA2K simulation game.
The Indiana Pacers are bringing in an overall rating of 81 overall, an outside scoring rating of 82 and an intangible rating of 82. The Indiana Pacers have an underrated four man lineup of Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon, Victor Oladipo and TJ Warren, guys who are ranked 82 overall or better. Myles Turner is a solid center with a 79 overall rating and a respectable 77 three-point shot, while Doug McDermott is one of the games best kept secrets with his 88 three point rating. The Indiana Pacers can simply shoot the basketball and the depth with the spacing makes them one of the more underrated teams in this game. With that said, the Pacers 60 rated defense and 54 rated rebounding does leave some holes on this team.
The Miami Heat are rated 80 overall with a 81 rating on athleticism and 89 rating for intangibles. The Heats three best players are Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic, three players who are ranked 81 overall or better and all bring different skill sets to the table. Kendrick Nunn, Kelly Olynyk and Derrick Jones Jr. are all rated 78 overall and capable of knocking down threes. Speaking of the deep ball, Duncan Robinson has a three point shot rated at 87 and Tyler Herro has a 83 rated deep ball. The Miami Heat are a well balanced roster that can be a sneaky team that you can do damage with in online play. The issues with the Heat are rebounding and defense. Only the Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets have worse rated defenses than the Heat.
This seems like a lot of points to turn down considering the Indiana Pacers have a slightly higher overall rating and have the offensive depth to give the Heat issues. However, this game is played in Miami and shots seem to fall at a high clip when that home crowd gets roaring. We've seen many times where games get out of hand in the second half because shots fall at a high percentage, and the Heat have the shooters to really open up a game.
This line seems like oddsmakers are begging you to side with the Pacers. Give me the Heat in a blowout victory.
