The Portland Trailblazers and the Golden State Warriors duke it out at the Chase Center on Friday night.
The Portland Trailblazers have split their four games this season and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting routed by the Clippers in a 128-105 road loss on Wednesday. CJ McCollum drained seven 3-pointers to lead the team with 25 points on eight of 17 shooting, Damian Lillard struggled all night as he finished with 20 points on three of 14 shooting while Carmelo Anthony provided a bit of a spark off the bench with 15 points. As a team, the Trailblazers shot just 42 percent from the field and 12 of 38 from the 3-point line as they didn’t match the intensity of the Clippers and quickly found themselves trailing by 19 points going into halftime. Lillard couldn’t get into any rhythm the entire night and the Trailblazers committed 17 turnovers which kept them from making any comeback.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors are coming into this one looking for a third straight win after taking down the Pistons in a 116-106 road win on Tuesday. Stephen Curry led the team with 31 points and six assists, Andrew Wiggins added 27 points on nine of 19 shooting while Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Warriors shot 50 percent from the field and 14 of 33 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from a 12-point deficit, before pouring in 39 points in the fourth quarter behind Wiggins who drained four 3-pointers in the quarter.
Looking at the betting trends, the Trailblazers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a loss, 1-5 ATS in their last six games playing on one days rest and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Warriors are 2-7 ATS in their last nine home games, 2-7 ATS in their last nine games as an underdog and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 24-9 in the last 33 meetings overall, the Trailblazers are 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Trailblazers are 10-24 ATS in the last 34 meetings in Golden State.
The Trailblazers will be eager to get back to winning ways after getting blown out against the Clippers in their last outing and they’ll like their chances against the shorthanded Warriors. The Warriors have come to life this season with a couple of wins on the trot, but they are just 2-7 ATS in their last nine home games, so I’m sticking with the Trailblazers to bounce back here.
