The Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers meet Wednesday in NBA action at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Houston Rockets look for a win to get back to a .500 record. The Houston Rockets are averaging 112.2 points on 46.9 percent shooting and allowing 115.6 points on 46.4 percent shooting. James Harden is averaging 33 points and 10.8 assists while Christian Wood is averaging 23.6 points and 1.6 assists. John Wall is the third double-digit scorer and Eric Gordon is grabbing 3.3 rebounds. The Houston Rockets are shooting 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and 77 percent from the free throw line. The Houston Rockets are allowing 39.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41.6 rebounds per game.
The Indiana Pacers look for another win to build on their 5-2 record. The Indiana Pacers are averaging 114.9 points on 49.3 percent shooting and allowing 108.1 points on 45.9 percent shooting. Malcolm Brogdon is averaging 22 points and 4.4 rebounds while Victor Oladipo is averaging 20.8 points and 4.7 assists. Domantas Sabonis is the third double-digit scorer and TJ Warren is grabbing 3.5 rebounds. The Indiana Pacers are shooting 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 74.6 percent from the free throw line. The Indiana Pacers are allowing 41.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41.4 rebounds per game.
The Rockets are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Pacers are 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 games as a favorite and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The under is 9-4 in Rockets last 13 overall. The under is 6-2 in Pacers last 8 home games. The Rockets are 4-9 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Indiana and 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.
As long as James Harden is still on the floor for the Rockets while Wall and Wood continue to shine on their new team, Houston in the underdog role has serious betting value. The Indiana Pacers are a club I've talked up from the start and a club we've made good money on already, but they're not as attractive in the favorite role, and there's reasons for pause when going up against other playoff caliber teams. The Rockets are attractive when getting points and this is a game where they can push the pace and score a lot. Give me the free bucket with the Rockets.
