The Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets duke it out at the Toyota Center on Sunday night. 

The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the form teams of the league as they’ve won seven of their first 10 games and they will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the Bulls in a 117-115 home win on Friday. LeBron James led the team with 28 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell each scored 17 points while Wesley Matthews chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Lakers shot 50 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line but they really had to scrap till the end as the Bulls hung with them all the way thanks to a game-high 38 points from Zach Lavine. Anthony Davis sat out Friday’s game with a right adductor strain and he is currently considered questionable for Sunday.  

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have lost four of their first seven games, but they will be looking to build some momentum after blowing past the Magic in a 132-90 home win on Friday. Christian Wood led the team with 22 points and 15 rebounds, PJ Tucker and Ben McLemore each scored 15 points while James Harden chipped in with 15 points and 13 assists. As a team, the Rockets shot a sizzling 56 percent from the field and 22 of 47 from the 3-point line as they cruised to victory after a dominant first half saw them lead by 62-33 going into halftime.  

Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Rockets are The Rockets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall.

Head to head, the over is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Houston, the Lakers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Houston and the Lakers are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both currently listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, so the Lakers could be shorthanded here. The Rockets have yet to really find their feet this season, but they just destroyed the Magic but 42 points and another win here would be great for their confidence. I’d be all over the Lakers if I knew they’d be at full strength here, but given the circumstances, I think I’ll take the Rockets with the points at home.
