The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the New Orleans Pelicans at the STAPLES Center on Wednesday night.

The New Orleans Pelicans started their season with four wins in their first six games, but they’ve since lost three in a item and just had their last game postponed, so they’ll be eager for any win they can get. In Friday’s 118-110 home loss to the Hornets, Zion Williamson led the team with 26 points on 12 of 22 shooting, Josh Hart added 19 points while Brandon Ingram and JJ Redick each scored 17 points. As a team, the Pelicans shot 49 percent from the field and 15 of 38 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates to lead by as many as 18 points early, before getting blown out in the second half by 71-51 in a game of two halves. To add insult to injury, Lonzo Ball is out on Wednesday with a knee injury while Eric Bledsoe is listed as questionable with a right eye irritation.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been building nicely as they’ve won seven of their first 11 games and they will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the Bulls in a 130-127 home win on Sunday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 35 points on 14 of 22 shooting, Paul George added 28 points with seven rebounds and nine assists while Lou Williams chipped in with 21 points and four assists off the bench. As a team, the Clippers shot 48 percent from the field and a sizzling 20 of 38 from the 3-point line as they fought back into the contest with 42 points in the third quarter, before holding on for the naritem win behind clutch free thitems from George.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pelicans are 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as an underdog and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Clippers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on two days rest.

The Pelicans could really do with a win after three losses in a item and they will be well-rested as they haven’t played since Friday, but they are just 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games. The Clippers have been building nicely so far without being at their best, but they will want to start stronger after a slow start almost cost them against the Bulls on Sunday. This should be a close one, but in the end I have the Clippers getting on top here.
