The Utah Jazz play host to the New Orleans Pelicans at the Vivint Arena on Tuesday night.

The New Orleans Pelicans have lost seven of their first 12 games, but they will be feeling pretty good after putting a halt to a five-game skid with a 128-123 road win over the Kings on Sunday. Zion Williamson led the way with 31 points on 13 of 15 shooting, Brandon Ingram added 22 points, Eric Bledsoe scored 21 points while Steven Adams chipped in with 12 points, 15 rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Pelicans shot a healthy 52 percent from the field and 11 of 22 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 34 points in the first quarter, before escaping with the naritem win as they went on a pivotal 6-0 run with just 3:16 remaining on the clock. Lonzo Ball sat out Sunday’s game with knee tendonitis, but his status has been upgraded to questionable for Tuesday’s game.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have won nine of their first 13 games and they’ve been in a real groove as they will be looking to build on their five-game win streak after taking down the Nuggets in a 109-105 road win on Sunday. Jordan Clarkson led the team with 23 points on nine of 13 shooting off the bench, Donovan Mitchell added 18 points with seven assists, Bojan Bogdanovic scored 17 points while Rudy Gobert chipped in with 15 points and 13 rebounds. As a team, the Jazz shot 51 percent from the field and 15 of 37 from the 3-point line as they struggled in the first half, before taking control of the game with their defense in the third quarter where they held the Nuggets to just 21 points. Mitchell didn’t have his best shooting night as he missed all seven 3-point attempts, but Mike Conley controlled things with a solid game of 14 points and eight assists.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pelicans are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games as a road underdog and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team above .600. The Jazz are 6-14-2 ATS in their last 22 home games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the over is 18-7in the last 25 meetings overall and the Pelicans are 4-10-1 ATS in the last 15 meetings overall.

The Pelicans will take plenty of confidence after snapping their five-game skid thanks to a monster game from Williamson back on Sunday and they could get Lonzo Ball back for this game. However, the Jazz are coming into this one as one of the hottest teams in the league right now and they’re getting it done without Mitchell needing to have big scoring nights. This should be a close one, but in the end I have the Jazz staying hot with a win and cover in this one.
