The Denver Nuggets travel to the PHX Arena to battle the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

The Denver Nuggets have been in decent shape as they’ve won six of their past nine games and they will be looking to stay hot after making light work of the Thunder in a 119-101 home win on Tuesday. Nikola Jokic led the team with 27 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, Monte Morris added 15 points and five assists off the bench, while Paul Millsap and Will Barton each scored 13 points. As a team, the Nuggets shot 43 percent from the field and 14 of 42 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game with 34 points in the second quarter, before making it a blowout in the third quarter with another 32 points to lead by as many as 29 points. The only blemish from the game was the play of Jamal Murray who continues to struggle as he finished with just five points on two of 10 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been playing well this season as they’ve won eight of their first 13 games and they will be looking to build some momentum after outlasting the new-look Rockets in a 109-103 road win on Wednesday. DeAndre Ayton led the team with 26 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks, Devin Booker added 24 points on 10 of 18 shooting while Chris Paul chipped in with 13 points and four assists. As a team, the Suns shot 47 percent from the field and eight of 34 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game early with 63 points in the first half to lead by 20 points early on, but it wasn’t smooth sailing at all in the second half as the Suns had to battle right till the end against the pesky Rockets.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points and 0-5-1 ATS in their last six games as an underdog. The Suns are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games, 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games as a favorite and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games overall.

Head to head, the over is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings overall and the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Phoenix.

The Nuggets are coming into this one with plenty of momentum after routing the Thunder in their last game and the same could be said for the Suns who took down the new-look Rockets on Wednesday. It’s hard to split these two teams at this stage of the season, but with this game being played in Phoenix, I prefer the Suns’ combination of Ayton, Paul and Booker over the Nuggets who are playing well despite Murray’s shooting struggles. Give me the Suns to pull it out in a close one.
