The Philadelphia 76ers and the Minnesota Timberwolves collide at the Target Center on Friday night.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been in nice touch lately as they’ve won six of their past eight games and they will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the league-leading Lakers in a 107-106 home win on Wednesday. Joel Embiid put on a show and led the team with 28 points, six rebounds and four assists, Tobias Harris added 24 points on 10 of 16 shooting, while Ben Simmons racked up a triple-double of 17 points with 11 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 48 percent from the field and nine of 25 from the 3-point line as they squandered a 16-point lead, before Harris saved the day with the game-winning jumper with just 3.0 seconds remaining to give the 76ers the win.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been struggling from day one as they’ve won just four of their first 17 games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight loss after getting routed by the Warriors in a 123-111 road loss on Wednesday. Malik Beasley led the team in scoring with 25 points on seven of 18 shooting, Anthony Edwards drained five 3-pointers on his way to 25 points off the bench while Naz Reid chipped in with 19 points, seven rebounds and a career-high five blocks. As a team, the Timberwolves shot just 42 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they hung in the contest by holding Stephen Curry to just two points in the first half, but they couldn’t keep that up in the second half where they fell behind by as many as 25 points before a late rally kept things interesting.

Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 14-36-2 ATS in their last 52 road games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team below .400 and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games playing on one days rest. The Timberwolves are 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 home games, 6-15 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a winning record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the under is 8-1 in the last nine meetings in Minnesota, the 76ers are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Minnesota and the 76ers are 10-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.

Joel Embiid will probably sit this one out after taking a scary fall in the last outing, but the 76ers won’t be too worried as they have more than enough depth to get past the slumping Timberwolves in this one. Edwards and Reid were fantastic for the Timberwolves on Wednesday, but it wasn’t nearly enough to get the win and I think we’re going to see more of the same here. I’m going with he 76ers who are 10-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.
