The Toronto Raptors play host to the Sacramento Kings at the Amalie Arena on Friday night.
The Sacramento Kings have lost six of their past nine games, but they will be gunning for a third straight win after making light work of the Magic in a 121-107 road win on Wednesday. Buddy Hield led the team with 29 points on 10 of 17 shooting, Harrison Barnes added 21 points, Richaun Holmes scored 20 points with 12 rebounds while Marvin Bagley and De’Aaron Fox each scored 16 points. As a team, the Kings shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 33 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with an easy 65 points in the first half, before pouring in another 31 points in the third quarter to put the game to bed early.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in decent form as they’ve won five of their past eight games, but they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling short against the Bucks in a 115-108 loss on Wednesday. Norman Powell led the team with 26 pints on eight of 13 shooting, Kyle Lowry added 21 points while Pascal Siakam and Aron Baynes each scored 11 points. As a team, the Raptors shot just 40 percent from the field and a sizzling 22 of 55 from the 3-point line as they held the Bucks to just 20 points in the third quarter to claw their way back into the contest, only to fade in the fourth quarter where the Bucks poured in 32 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games as a road underdog and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Raptors are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings overall and the Kings are 1-5-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
The Kings have finally found a bit of form with a couple of wins on the trot, while the Raptors have cooled off recently with back to back losses. The Kings are just 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall and just 1-5-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall involving the Raptors. This should be a close one, but in the end, I think the Raptors can snap out of their funk with a much-needed win here.
