The Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers meet Monday in NBA action at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

The Minnesota Timberwolves need a win after losing seven of their last nine games. The Minnesota Timberwolves are averaging 106.6 points on 43.5 percent shooting and allowing 117.1 points on 47.7 percent shooting. Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 22 points and 4.3 assists while D’Angelo Russell is averaging 20.1 points and 5.4 assists. Malik Beasley is the third double-digit scorer and Anthony Edwards is grabbing 2.9 rebounds. The Minnesota Timberwolves are shooting 33.7 percent from beyond the arc and 75.8 percent from the free throw line. The Minnesota Timberwolves are allowing 38.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.1 rebounds per game.

The Cleveland Cavaliers need a win after losing four of their last five games. The Cleveland Cavaliers are averaging 104.2 points on 45 percent shooting and allowing 108.6 points on 46.7 percent shooting. Collin Sexton is averaging 24.6 points and 2.6 rebounds while Andre Drummond is averaging 18.1 points and 2.6 assists. The Timberwolves are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Cavaliers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The over is 4-1 in Timberwolves last 5 road games. The over is 6-1 in Cavaliers last 7 overall. The over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Cleveland and 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.

The Minnesota Timberwolves finally found a way to win a game yesterday, but it’s going to take more than that for me to buy into them, as they’ve been god awful at both ends of the floor and don’t cover numbers. The Cleveland Cavaliers had their chances to win last night despite not being able to make a three and they turned the ball over 19 times. The Timberwolves aren’t good. If the Cavs clean things up a bit, they should cruise in the rematch. I’ll lay the chalk with the Cavaliers at home.
