The Washington Wizards and the Miami Heat duke it out at the American Airlines Arena on Wednesday night.

The Washington Wizards have been in terrible shape as they’ve won just four of their first 17 games and they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after last night’s 132-121 loss to the Trailblazers. Bradley Beal led the team with 37 points on 14 of 24 shooting, Rui Hachimura added 24 points on 10 of 12 shooting while Russell Westbrook racked up a triple-double of 17 points with 12 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Wizards shot 55 percent from the field and 16 of 40 from the 3-point line, but they were always fighting an uphill battle after a slow start saw them trail by 17 points at the end of the first quarter.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in terrible form lately as they’ve lost six of their past seven games and they will be hoping to bounce back after Monday’s 129-121 overtime loss to the Hornets. Jimmy Butler led the team with 24 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals, Bam Adebayo added 23 points on 10 of 15 shooting while Duncan Robinson chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Heat shot 47 percent from the field and 19 of 46 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in complete control after leading by 10 points late in the fourth quarter until the Hornets went on a 12-2 run to force overtime and run away it.

Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games, 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Heat are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a losing record, 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the over is 19-7 in the last 26 meetings overall, the Wizards are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Wizards are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Miami.

The Wizards were on cloud nine after their thrilling win over the Nets, but they came crashing back down to earth last night after getting routed by the Trailblazers. The Heat have been struggling for form and continuity all season and they will be gutted after losing in overtime to the Hornets on Monday. Neither team has been in much form to speak of, but the Heat are certainly closer to turning things around, especially with Butler back in the lineup. The Wizards are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games and they are plyaing on zero days’ rest, so I’m going with the Heat to take advantage and get the much-needed win in this one.
