The Phoenix Suns play host to the Detroit Pistons at the PHX Arena on Friday night basketball.

The Detroit Pistons have been in a slump as they’ve lost seven of their past nine games and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Jazz in a 117-105 road loss on Tuesday. Jerami Grant led the team with 27 points on nine of 18 shooting, Mason Plumlee added 17 points with 14 rebounds and two assists while Josh Jackson chipped in with 22 points on seven of 15 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot just 41 percent from the field and nine of 27 from the 3-point line but they were never really in the contest after falling behind by 69-46 going into halftime. Derrick Rose sat out on Tuesday with an upset stomach, but he is expected to return on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have split their last eight games, but they were gunning for a fourth straight victory, before getting routed by the Pelicans in a 123-101 road loss on Wednesday. Devin Booker led the team with 25 points on nine of 20 shooting, DeAndre Ayton added 13 points with 11 rebounds while Chris Paul chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Suns shot 46 percent from the field and eight of 35 from the 3-point line as they trailed by just two points at halftime, before getting blown out in the second half by 75-55 as the Pelicans ran away with it.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 1-3-1 ATS in their last five road games and 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a loss. The Suns are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a loss of more than 10 points and 19-9 ATS in their last 28 games overall.

Head to head, the Pistons are 26-8 ATS in the last 34 meetings overall and the Pistons are 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Phoenix.

The Pistons are coming into this game with no momentum of confidence, but they do receive a nice boost as Rose is expected to return in this one. The Suns were on a nice run of four straight wins before getting blown out by the Pelicans on Wednesday, so they will be keen to get back in the win column here. The Suns are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 home games and I think they will be too good for the slumping Pistons right now.
