The Charlotte Hornets and the Memphis Grizzlies collide at the FedExForum on Wednesday night.

The Charlotte Hornets have been in a real slump as they’ve lost six of their last seven and they will be hoping to snap a five-game slide after falling just short to the Lakers in a 126-123 overtime road loss on Monday. Terry Rozier snapped out of his shooting slump to lead the team with 29 points on 11 of 22 shooting, LaMelo Ball racked up a triple-double of 25 points with 15 rebounds and 11 assists, Gordon Hayward scored 21 points while Miles Bridges chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Hornets shot 43 percent from the field and 14 of 42 from the 3-point line as they as they rallied back from a 14-point deficit to force overtime, before falling just short as the Lakers closed the final 2:58 of overtime on a 9-2 run.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies are starting to heat up now as they’ve won four of their past six games and they will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the Timberwolves in a 125-118 overtime home win on Monday. Ja Morant led the team with 33 points and eight assists, Brandon Clarke added 20 points on eight of 11 shooting off the bench while De’Anthony Melton chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 50 percent from the field and 11 of 28 from the 3-point line as they squandered a nine-point lead in the third quarter to allow the Timberwolves to force overtime, but they were able to regroup and come away with the win behind their defense.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hornets are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall. The Grizzlies are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record, 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Head to head, the over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings overall, the Hornets are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings overall and the Hornets are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Memphis.

The Hornets haven’t been playing anywhere near their best lately as they’ve won just one of their past seven games and their confidence took another hit after falling just short to the shorthanded Lakers in their last outing. The Grizzlies are clearly the team in better form in this matchup, they looked great in their hard-fought overtime win over the Timberwolves and they are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall. With that being said, I’m sticking with the more consistent Grizzlies to get the win and cover in this spot.
