The New York Knicks and Orlando Magic meet Friday in NBA action at the Amway Center. The New York Knicks look for a 2-0 start after beating the Celtics in double overtime. The Orlando Magic need a win after getting clapped by the Spurs in their opener.

The New York Knicks are averaging 138 points on 48.6 percent shooting and allowing 134 points on 41 percent shooting. Julius Randle is averaging 35 points and eight rebounds, while Evan Fournier is averaging 32 points and three assists. RJ Barrett is the third double-digit scorer and Obi Toppin is grabbing five rebounds. The New York Knicks are shooting 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 70.4 percent from the free throw line. The New York Knicks are allowing 36.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 55 rebounds per game.

The Orlando Magic are averaging 97 points on 40.7 percent shooting and allowing 123 points on 50 percent shooting. Mo Bamba is averaging 18 points and four rebounds, while Terrence Ross is averaging 15 points and three rebounds. Wendall Carter Jr. is the third double-digit scorer and Franz Wagner is grabbing four rebounds. The Orlando Magic are shooting 31 percent from beyond the arc and 78.3 percent from the free throw line. The Orlando Magic are allowing 43.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44 rebounds per game.

The Knicks are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 road games and 35-17-1 ATS in their last 53 games overall. The Magic are 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 home games and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall. The under is 8-3 in Knicks last 11 overall. The over is 19-7 in Magic last 26 overall. The Knicks are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

I’m not riding the New York Knicks bandwagon like a lot of others are after their win over the Celtics, but they did show some promise. The Knicks were also covering machines on the road last season, but they’re much more attractive as underdogs. The Orlando Magic looked awful in their season opener, and it’s going to be rough if they can’t find consistent offense. The line is a little steep, but the Magic don’t look good. Give me the Knicks.
