The Utah Jazz play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Vivint Arena on Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in a rut lately as they’ve lost four of their last five games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after Monday’s 127-124 overtime loss to the Wizards. LeBron James led the team with 31 points, nine rebounds and 13 assists, Montrezl Harrell added 26 points off the bench, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 21 points while Kyle Kuzma chipped in with 14 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Lakers shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 44 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half to lead by as many as 17 points, before getting run down in the second half and overtime where they just couldn’t slow down Russell Westbrook or Bradley Beal.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been in ridiculously good form lately as they’ve won 21 of their past 23 games and they will be looking to stay hot after making light work of the Hornets in a 132-110 home win on Monday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 23 points and eight assists, Joe Ingles and Gorgui Niang each scored 21 points while Jordan Clarkson chipped in with 20 points. As a team, the Jazz shot a healthy 52 percent from the field and a sizzling 28 of 55 from the 3-point line as they wrestled with the pesky Hornets for three tight quarters, before exploding for 41 points in the fourth quarter to make it a complete blowout in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team above .600 and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Jazz are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 home games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 22-5 ATS in their last 27 games overall.

Head to head, the Lakers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Utah and the Lakers are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings overall.

The Lakers have struggled with injuries lately and they will again be without Dennis Schroder and Anthony Davis which is bad news when you’re matched up against the hottest team in the Jazz who are at full strength. The Lakers have struggled over their last five games and they are only 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games. With that being said, I’m more comfortable going with the more consistent and reliable Jazz who are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 home games.
