The Brooklyn Nets play host to the Dallas Mavericks at the Barclays Center on Saturday night.

The Dallas Mavericks have been in great form lately as they’ve won seven of their past 10 games, but they will be looking to bounce back here after getting stopped in their tracks by the 76ers in a 111-97 road loss on Thursday. Luka Doncic led the team with 19 points and four assists, Josh Richardson added 13 points while Tim Hardaway Jr. chipped in with just 12 points off the bench. As a team, the Mavericks shot just 41 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and were always fighting an uphill battle after allowing 36 points in the second quarter to trail by 16 points going into halftime. The Mavericks committed a total of 22 turnovers, scored just 26 points in the paint and only seven fast break points, so I’m surprised that they didn’t lose by a bigger margin.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in terrific form as they will be looking to build on their current eight-game win streak after making light work of the Magic in a 129-92 home win on Thursday. Kyrie Irving added 27 points with nine assists, James Harden scored 20 points with nine rebounds and seven assists while Landry Shamet chipped in with 19 points and nine rebounds off the bench. As a team, the Nets shot 53 percent from the field and a healthy 20 of 45 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game with 41 points in an explosive second quarter, before making it a complete blowout in the fourth quarter as they finished in a flurry.

Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a loss of more than 10 points, 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a loss of more than 10 points and 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Nets are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 8-0 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Head to head, the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall.

The Mavericks were playing some great basketball before getting dropped by the 76ers in their last outing, while the Nets are currently the hottest team in the league as they just took down the Magic by 37 points. Neither team is known for their defense, so we should have a high-scoring affair here, but I’m giving the edge to the Nets who should be able to build on their current eight-game win streak. The Nets are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and I think that trend continues here as the Nets roll.
