The Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Indiana Pacers at the Staples Center on Friday night.

The Indiana Pacers have been in a real slump lately as they’ve lost five of their last six games and they will be looking to bounce back after getting dropped by the Nuggets in a 113-103 loss last Thursday. Myles Turner led the team with 22 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks, Doug McDermott added 20 points, Justin Holiday scored 16 points while Domantas Sabonis compiled a triple-double of 10 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Pacers shot 45 percent from the field and 14 of 39 from the 3-point line as they fell behind in the second quarter, before getting blown out in the fourth quarter where they trailed by as many as 18 points.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in a real slump as they’ve lost six of their past eight games and they will be hoping to snap a two-game slide after falling short against the Kings in a 123-120 road loss last Wednesday. Dennis Schroder led the team with 28 points and nine assists, Montrezl Harrell added 26 points and 12 rebounds off the bench while Kyle Kuzma chipped in with 25 points, 13 rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Lakers shot 52 percent from the field and 12 of 27 from the 3-point line as they hung around till the final 30 seconds where the Kings’ scored the final four points to steal the win. LeBron James sat this one out along with Anthony Davis who was out injured.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 0-7 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record, 35-17 ATS in their last 52 games following a double-digit loss at home and 0-6 ATS in their last six games overall. The Lakers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record.

Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall, the Pacers are 0-4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Los Angeles and the Pacers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.

The Lakers have really cooled off lately as the injuries piled up, but the good news is that LeBron James is expected to return which is obviously a major boost. The Pacers have been in a slump themselves and they are 0-7 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record. This should be a close one, but I think the Lakers return to form with a hard-fought win here.
