The Minnesota Timberwolves travel to the PHX Arena to do battle with the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in a real slump as they’ve lost 11 of their last 13 games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting routed by the Lakers in a 137-121 road loss on Tuesday. Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns each scored 29 points, Ricky Rubio added 19 points with 12 assists while Jaylen Nowell chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 52 percent from the field and 11 of 35 from the 3-point line as they hung in the contest with 70 points in the first half, before getting blown out in the second half by 66-51 as the Lakers’ second unit took over.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been in great form as they’ve won six of their past seven games and they will be looking to stay hot after routing the Grizzlies in a 122-99 home win on Monday. Devin Booker led the team with 27 points and five assists, Chris Paul added 18 points with seven assists and four steals while DeAndre Ayton chipped in with 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. As a team, the Suns shot a healthy 56 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the 3-point line as they took control with 36 points in the second quarter, before pouring in another 36 points in the third quarter to make it a blowout.

The Timberwolves have come to life lately with two wins in their last four games, but their confidence might have taken a hit in their blowout loss to the Lakers on Tuesday, while the Suns are coming into this game with plenty of momentum as they’ve hardly put a foot wrong this season. The Timberwolves could hang around again if they get hot like they did against the Lakers, but the Suns are far and away the better team at this stage and the Timberwolves are only 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
