The San Antonio Spurs invade the Fiserv Forum to take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night.
The San Antonio Spurs have been building some momentum with four wins in their last five games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after taking down the Cavaliers in a 116-110 road win last night. Keldon Johnson led the team with 23 points, 21 rebounds and two blocks, Dejounte Murray added 22 points while DeMar DeRozan chipped in with 20 points and seven assists. As a team, the Spurs shot 46 percent from the field and seven of 18 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game by holding the Cavaliers to just 20 points in the second quarter to take a 12-point lead into halftime, before pushing the margin out to 22 points in the third quarter which was enough as the Cavaliers rallied late.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in fine form as they’ve won 10 of their past 11 games and they will be looking to build on their current five-game win streak after outlasting the shorthanded 76ers in a 109-105 overtime road win on Wednesday. Giannis Antetkoumpo led the team with 32 points, 15 rebounds and five assists, Donte DiVincenzo added 20 points with eight rebounds and five assists while Jrue Holiday chipped in with 19 points and six assists. As a team, the Bucks shot just 40 percent from the field and nine of 39 from the 3-point line as they struggled early and scored just 31 points in the first half, before rallying to force overtime where Antetokounmpo carried the team over the line.
Looking at the betting trends, the Spurs are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record. The Bucks are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the over is 5-0 in the last five meetings overall, the Spurs are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in Milwaukee and the Spurs are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
The Spurs are starting to play some of their best basketball of the season, but they’ve been taking on the lesser teams in the league, so the Bucks will provide much stiffer competition in this matchup. The Spurs are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall, but they’re playing this one on zero days’ rest, so I’m going with the red-hot Bucks to continue their strong run with another win here.
