Portland Trail Blazers vs Dallas Mavericks NBA Picks, Odds, Predictions 3/19/21

The Portland Trailblazers play host to the Dallas Mavericks once again at the Moda Center on Friday night.

The Dallas Mavericks have been great form lately as they’ve won 12 of their past 16 games and they will be looking to stay hot after routing the Clippers in a 105-89 home win on Wednesday. Luka Doncic led the team with 42 points and nine assists on 16 of 28 shooting, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 15 points while Josh Richardson chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot 50 percent from the field and 15 of 34 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game with 32 points in the second quarter, before running away with it in the fourth quarter where they held the Clippers to just 18 points.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trailblazers have been in decent form themselves as they’ve won five of their past seven games and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Pelicans in a thrilling 125-124 home win on Tuesday. Damian Lillard led the way with 50 points and 10 assists on 13 of 20 shooting, Gary Trent Jr. added 22 points off the bench while CJ McCollum and Enes Kanter each scored 10 points. As a team, the Trailblazers shot 52 percent from the field and 18 of 43 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the game to fall behind by as many as 17 points midway through the fourth quarter, before rallying to steal the game on the game-winning free throws from Lillard who carried the team down the stretch.

Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as a road favorite. The Trailblazers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as a home underdog and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the over is 6-0 in the last six meetings overall, the Mavericks are 21-9 ATS in the last 30 meetings overall and the Mavericks are 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Portland. 

The Mavericks have been playing some of their best basketball of the season and they will take so much confidence from their dominant win over the Clippers on Wednesday. The Portland Trailblazers have been on a nice run themselves, they have McCollum back in the lineup and Lillard is coming into this one fresh off a 50-point performance. This one could go either way, but I’m leaning towards the Trailblazers to pull off the minor upset at home in a close one.
