The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Atlanta Hawks at the Staples Center on Monday night.

The Atlanta Hawks have been on a tear lately as they will be looking to build on their current eight-game win streak after outlasting the Lakers in a 99-94 road win on Saturday. John Collins led the team with 27 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks, Danilo Gallinari added 18 points off the bench while Trae Young chipped in with 14 points and 11 assists. As a team, the Hawks shot just 39 percent from the field and 13 of 37 from the 3-point line as they hung tough against the Lakers, until the third quarter where they held the Lakers to just 12 points to lead by as many as 14 points, before holding off the Lakers’ late rally. To be fair, the Lakers did lose LeBron James midway through the game, so the Hawks were up against a depleted Lakers lineup in the second half.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have lost five of their past eight games, but they will be looking to stay hot after routing the Hornets in a 125-98 home win on Saturday. Paul George led the team with 21 points and 10 assists on eight of 14 shooting, Kawhi Leonard added 17 points while Lou Williams chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Clippers shot 52 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they came out the gates firing and quicky shot out to a 22-point lead at halftime, before cruising in the second half to win comfortably.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team above .600 and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall. The Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a win of more than 10 points and 0-6 ATS in their last six games following a win.

Head to head, the over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall and the Hawks are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Los Angeles.

Trae Young was a chance of missing this game with a bruised right quad, but the update is that he is good to go which is great news for the Hawks who have been playing some of their best basketball of the season. The Clippers just routed the Hornets, but they were really struggling before that, so you don’t really know what type of effort you’re going to get from them. The Hawks beat the Clippers by 108-98 back on Jan 26 behind 38 points from Young and I think they’re good enough to pull off the upset once again with the Clippers still searching for consistency.
