The Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards meet Thursday in NBA preseason action at the Capital One Arena.

The Detroit Pistons look for a win after splitting two games against the Knicks. The Detroit Pistons are averaging 91.5 points on 37.2 percent shooting and allowing 90.5 points on 42.5 percent shooting. Sekou Doumbouya is averaging 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while Derrick Rose is averaging 10.5 points and five assists. Blake Griffin is the third double-digit scorer and Svi Mykhailiuk is grabbing 1.5 rebounds. The Detroit Pistons are shooting 29.7 percent from beyond the arc and 76.3 percent from the free thitem line. The Detroit Pistons are allowing 23.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41.5 rebounds per game.

The Washington Wizards look for a win after losing their preseason opener to the Nets. The Washington Wizards are averaging 114 points on 43.3 percent shooting and allowing 119 points on 51.4 percent shooting. Rui Hachimura is averaging 18 points and four rebounds while Raul Neto is averaging 17 points and three rebounds. Deni Avdija is the third double-digit scorer and Troy Bitemn Jr. is grabbing six rebounds. The Washington Wizards are shooting 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 72.7 percent from the free thitem line. The Washington Wizards are allowing 46.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 47 rebounds per game.

The Pistons are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 3 or more days rest. The Wizards are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a favorite and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Pistons are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Washington. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Washington.

The Detroit Pistons have been horrible on the offensive side through two preseason games and that was against the Knicks. I expect the Wizards to play their starters a bit in this game after taking the cautious approach in their opener against the Nets. The Pistons look bad for whatever that’s worth. Beal and Westbrook on the floor for some time, I’ll side with the Wizards and the small chalk.
