The Dallas Mavericks pay a visit to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Monday night.
The Dallas Mavericks have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last eight games, but they will be hoping to put an end to a two-game skid after falling short against the Pelicans in a 112-103 road loss on Saturday. Tim Hardaway Jr. led the team with 30 points off the bench, Jalen Brunson added 24 points on 10 of 15 shooting, while Max Kleber Boban Marjanovic and Trey Burke each scored 13 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot just 44 percent from the field and 10 of 31 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to lead late in the fourth quarter, before the Pelicans went on a pivotal 9-0 run to pull away and escape with the win. The Mavericks were severely shorthanded in this one as they were without Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their past six games and they will be looking to snap a two-game skid after getting blown out by the Celtics in a 111-94 home loss on Saturday. Theo Maledon led the team with 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Moses Brown added 21 points with 23 rebounds while Luguentz Dort chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Thunder shot just 41 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Celtics all the way until the fourth quarter where they got blown out by 35-14.
Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 7-20 ATS in their last 27 games against a team with a losing record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a loss. The Thunder are 0-4 ATS in their last four games playing on one days’ rest and 21-9 ATS in their last 30 games following a loss of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and the Mavericks are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.
The Mavericks will be welcoming back their two top scorers in Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, while the Thunder will still be without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort. The line is pretty hefty for a road team, but I think the Mavericks back with a big win in this one.
