The Detroit Pistons invade the Ball Arena to do battle with the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

The Detroit Pistons have been in a slump as they’ve lost six of their past eight games and they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting destroyed by the Warriors in a 118-91 road loss on Saturday. Jerami Grant led the team in scoring with 18 points while Josh Jackson chipped in with 17 points off the bench, but no other player finished in double figures. As a team, the Pistons shot just 37 percent from the field and nine of 36 from the 3-point line as they fell behind by double-digits early after scoring just 17 points in the first quarter and never threatened as they were outscored in every quarter. Derrick Rose scored just eight points on three of 11 shooting, Blake Griffin scored just five points on one of eight shooting while Wayne Ellington shot zero of six to finish scoreless.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in great shape as they’ve won six of their past seven games and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the surging Jazz in a 128-117 home win on Sunday. Nikola Jokic dominated this one as he poured in 47 points with 12 rebounds and five assists on 17 of 26 shooting, Will Barton added 18 points with six assists while Jamal Murray chipped in with 16 points and five assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 54 percent from the field and a sizzling 18 of 28 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 43 points in the first quarter and led by as many as 28 points before cruising in the second half.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four road games and 1-5-1 ATS in the last seven games playing on one days’ rest. The Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in the last five games against a team with a losing record, 5-2 ATS in the last seven games playing on zero days’ rest and 5-1 ATS in the last six games overall.

Head to head, the over is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings overall and the Pistons are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.

The Pistons have really struggled lately and they’re coming into this one off a 27-point loss to the Warriors, so they’ll be low on confidence here, while the Nuggets have been playing some of their best basketball of the season with Jokic fresh off a 47-point performance. Give me the Nuggets to pull away in the second half to win easily.
