The Washington Wizards pay a visit to the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on Friday night.
The Washington Wizards have been in a rut as they’ve lost seven of their past 10 games, but they will be looking to build some momentum now after stopping a four-game slide with a 131-116 road win over the Magic on Wednesday. Bradley Beal led the team with 26 points on 11 of 19 shooting, Russell Westbrook racked up a triple-double of 23 points with 14 rebounds and 15 assists while Davis Bertans chipped in with 22 points off the bench. As a team, the Wizards shot a sizzling 57 percent from the field and 19 of 36 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game with 39 points in the second quarter, before running away with it in the fourth quarter where they led by as many as 21 points.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in a funk of their own as they’ve lost seven of their last nine games, but they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the shorthanded Bucks in a 122-121 home win on Tuesday. Stephen Curry led the team with 41 points on 14 of 21 shooting, Kelly Oubre Jr. added 19 points while Kent Bazemore chipped in with 18 points off the bench. As a team, the Warriors shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 40 from the 3-point line as they trailed by 10 points with just 4:16 remaining, until escaping with the win on the back of clutch free throws with just 7.7 seconds remaining.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as an underdog and 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a win of more than 10 points. The Warriors are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games playing on two days’ rest and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Golden State and the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall.
The Wizards haven’t been able to make a lot of noise lately as they’ve lost seven of their past 10, but they looked great in their dominant win over the Magic on Wednesday and it’s no surprise that the return of Beal had something to do with it. The Warriors were in a rut of their own before pulling off their comeback win over the Bucks on Tuesday, so they will be eager to stay hot with another win here. This should be a close one, so the points could be valuable here, but I’m sticking with the Warriors to get the narrow win at home.
