As a team, the Timberwolves shot just 40 percent from the field and 17 of 45 from the 3-point line as they fell behind big after allowing 72 points in the first half, before seeing the margin balloon out to 38 points in the third quarter where they scored just 16 points.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings will be breathing a major sigh of relief after arresting a nine-game slide with a 121-107 road win over the Mavericks on Sunday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 30 points and 12 assists, Harrison Barnes added 24 points on nine of 14 shooting while Terrence Davis chipped in with 23 points on nine of 12 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Kings shot 49 percent from the field and 11 of 24 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 45 points in the second quarter to lead by as many as 21 points, before pouring in another 34 points in the fourth quarter to make it a blowout.

Looking at the betting trends, the Timberwolves are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss of more than 10 points. The Kings are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.

The Timberwolves just haven’t been able to get anything going lately and their confidence took a real hit in their blowout loss to the Clippers on Sunday as only three players finished in double figures in scoring. The Kings have been in worse form, but they will be feeling so much better after putting a stop to an ugly nine-game losing streak with a shocking win over the Mavericks. It’s always tricky to pick games involving two struggling teams, but I think the Kings turned a corner with their last win and I think they can carry that momentum into this one.
