The Washington Wizards invade the Fiserv Forum to do battle with the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.
The Washington Wizards have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 13 of their last 16 games and they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the Pacers in a 154-141 home win on Monday. Rui Hachimura led the team in scoring with 27 points on 12 of 19 shooting, Bradley Beal scored 26 points with six assists while Russell Westbrook racked up a monster triple-double of 14 points with 21 rebounds and 24 assists. As a team, the Wizards shot a sizzling 61 percent from the field and nine of 22 from the 3-point line as they poured on 82 points in the first half to take a 14-point lead into halftime, before pouring in another 40 points in the third quarter to lead by as many as 23 points. The Wizards wreaked havoc in the paint where they scored 96 points and they also outscored the Pacers by 30-6 in fast break points.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in fine form as they’ve won six of their past eight games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight win after last night’s 124-118 home win over the Nets. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 36 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday each scored 23 points while Donte DiVincenzo chipped in with 10 points and 15 rebounds. As a team, the Bucks shot 44 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line as they squandered an 11-point lead, before rallying in the fourth quarter where they held the Nets to just 24 points to escape with the hard-fought win. Holiday flirted with a triple-double as he scored 23 points with eight rebounds and 10 assists and came up with a clutch steal down the stretch as the Nets rallied late.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games overall. The Bucks are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-0 in the last seven meetings overall and the Wizards are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
Both teams are coming into this game with plenty of momentum as they Wizards have won 13 of their past 16 games, while the Bucks will be going for a fourth straight win after beating the Nets twice in a row. The Bucks are the deeper team with more talent, but the Wizards have been on fire lately and represent decent value as heavy underdogs in this spot. I'm expecting a close game, so I'll take the Wizards with the points in this one.
