The Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers meet Wednesday in game five of the NBA East Playoffs at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Washington Wizards need a win to save their season and force a game six on Friday. The Washington Wizards are averaging 109.5 points on 45.1 percent shooting and allowing 122.8 points on 51.1 percent shooting. Bradley Beal is averaging 29.5 points and six rebounds while Russell Westbrook is averaging 17.8 points and 12.3 assists. Rui Hachimura is the third double-digit scorer and Daniel Gafford is grabbing 5.5 rebounds. The Washington Wizards are shooting 26.7 percent from beyond the arc and 74.1 percent from the free throw line. The Washington Wizards are allowing 38.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.8 rebounds per game.

The Philadelphia 76ers look to win the series and advance to the second round for the third time in four years. The Philadelphia 76ers are averaging 122.8 points on 51.1 percent shooting and allowing 109.5 points on 45.1 percent shooting. Tobias Harris is averaging 24.3 points and 10.3 rebounds while Joel Embiid is averaging 24 points and 2.5 assists. Ben Simmons is the third double-digit scorer and Seth Curry is dishing three assists. The Philadelphia 76ers are shooting 38.7 percent from beyond the arc and 67 percent from the free throw line. The Philadelphia 76ers are allowing 26.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46 rebounds per game.

The Wizards are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 road games and 20-7-1 ATS in their last 28 games overall. The 76ers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games as a favorite. The over is 9-4 in Wizards last 13 overall. The over is 5-1 in 76ers last 6 overall. The Wizards are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Philadelphia and 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

The Philadelphia 76ers are easily the better team here and should be favored to close out the series at home. However, a knee injury to Joel Embiid throws a monkey wrench into this series. We’ll find out soon how serious the injury is and if he’ll miss some time, but the 76ers obviously aren’t as good without their Allstar big man. The Wizards have some confidence flowing now and if Embiid can’t play, I wouldn’t be shocked if this series is pushed to a sixth game. Either way, give me the points.
