1899 Hoffenheim is welcoming Bayer Leverkusen to PreZero Arena in round 28 in the German Bundesliga.

Hoffenheim has started the season well, but everything went downhill since then. Hoffenheim has won only 1 of their last 6 games while losing their last 3 straight games. During this 3-game streak, Hoffenheim has scored only 2 goals while conceding 6 goals, and from once the best offense in the league, they turned into one of the weakest. Hoffenheim is now only 4 points away from the relegation zone, in 12th place with 30 points, and their dreams of reaching the Europa League are long gone. Hoffenheim was playing against Augsburg in their last Bundesliga game, and they were solid with 70% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 10 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 84% of the correct passes. Hoffenheim’s defense was bad, and they conceded 2 goals in 23 minutes in the first half, but they scored a consolation goal in the 85th minute. The final score of this game was 2-1 in favor of Augsburg. Kramaric is the leading goalscorer for Hoffenheim with 14 goals, but he has been struggling with injuries this season. Bebou has added 7 goals and 4 assists. Hubner, Geiger, Stafylidis, Nordtveit, Bicakcic, Gacinovic, and Vogt are all injured. Hoffenheim is a decent team, but they are still not safe in Bundesliga, and it will be a tense end of the season.

Same as Hoffenheim, Leverkusen is in terrible form, and they have won only 2 of their last 9 games while losing 5 of those 9 games. Offensively, Leverkusen isn’t doing any better than Hoffenheim, and they have scored only 2 goals in their last 3 games while conceding 7 goals. With 43 points, Leverkusen is now in 6th place, which is the Europa League spot, but Union Berlin is on their tail. With 32 conceded goals, Leverkusen is a solid defensive team, at least they were, and their offense worked much better before. Leverkusen has scored 45 goals in 27 games. With 10 scored goals, Alario is the leading goalscorer for Leverkusen, while Schick added 9 goals. Diaby has added 7 assists, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he left Leverkusen in the summer. Arias, Baumgartlinger, Bender, and Fosu-Mensah are all injured. In their last Bundesliga game, Leverkusen was hosting Schalke, and they were the better team with 64% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and a solid 89% of the correct passes. Luckily for Leverkusen, their opponent was Schalke, and they have won this game 2-1, but if this was any other team, I think this game would end differently. Leverkusen is still in the Europa League spot, but they will need some more points to stay there, and I think they have the quality to do it.

Neither of the teams is in good form, and the quality is slightly on Leverkusen’s side in this matchup, and with bad defenses these two teams are playing, this game is screaming goals to me, on both sides.
