The Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons meet Wednesday in NBA action at the Little Caesars Arena. The Chicago Bulls are coming off a 31-win season and hope to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016-17. The Detroit Pistons have won 20 games back-to-back seasons but hope to take a step forward in Dwane Casey’s fourth year.

The Chicago Bulls were arguably the busiest team this off season with the additions of Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, Derrick Jones Jr. Alex Caruso and the drafting of Ayo Dosunmu. When you throw in Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic into that mix, there’s no reason why the Bulls shouldn’t be in the thick of the playoff race in the East. The Bulls have a lot more play making ability, scoring, and the defense should improve at the guard spots as well. The Bulls also hope to get back Coby White sometime in November, as he’s battling a shoulder injury. Overall, the Bulls have the ability to be the most improved team in the league this season and have probably their best roster since winning 50 games in the 2014-15 season behind Jimmy Butler, Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose. Bulls fans should be excited.

The Detroit Pistons are a young basketball team that’s just waiting for some of its youth to blossom, as players such as Killian Hayes, Isaiah Stewart and Saddiq Bey are coming off their rookie seasons. Of course, Cade Cunningham was this year’s first overall pick and many peg him as a future star in this league. Luka Garza was an absolute stud for the Iowa Hawkeyes, and he put on a show throughout summer league. Jerami Grant has shown flashes of being more than just a quality role player, and the addition of Kelly Olynyk brings experience and outside shooting. The Pistons are still in rebuild mode, but there’s a ton of talented youth on this roster, and it may not be long before things start to take shape. It looks like the Pistons finally have a plan.

The Bulls are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Pistons are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The under is 10-1 in Bulls last 11 overall. The under is 5-2 in Pistons last 7 overall. The Bulls are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Detroit.

The Detroit Pistons are going to be valuable in some spots, as they’re a young, up and coming team that should be able to cover numbers. However, the Bulls looked fabulous in the preseason, and they feel like a team that’s eager to make a statement. On paper, the Bulls look like a team that’s going to be a factor in the East and could surprise a bunch of people. I’m rather high on the Bulls. I’ll lay the reasonable number.
