The Los Angeles Clippers and the Golden State Warriors duke it out at the Chase Center on Thursday night.

The Los Angeles Clippers are in quite a predicament as they know they’re not good enough to truly contend in the Western Conference without Kawhi Leonard who might sit out the entire season due to knee surgery, but they can’t make many moves due to the salary cap. Paul George should have all the shots he wants this season and maybe the Clippers can get a resurgent season from Eric Bledsoe who returns to the team. Serge Ibaka is another player that is finally healthy again after missing a ton of time and Terance Mann should be plenty of opportunity with Leonard injured.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors will be looking for a second straight win after rallying past the Lakers in a 121-114 road win on opening night. Stephen Curry led the way with a triple-double of 21 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists, Jordan Poole added 20 points while Nemanja Bjelica and Damion Lee each scored 15 points. As a team, the Warriors shot 44 percent from the field and 14 of 39 from the 3-point line as they struggled against the Lakers’ defense in the first half, before pouring in 68 points in the second half to pull away and win despite Curry shooting just five of 21 from the field.

Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 20-6-1 ATS in their last 27 games playing on three or more days rest. The Warriors are 6-0 ATS in their last six home games and 6-0 ATS in their last six games playing on one days rest.

Head to head, the over is 16-7 in the last 23 meetings overall and the Clippers are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Golden State.

The Clippers have plenty of experience playing without Kawhi Leonard, but the fact that he could miss the entire season really hurts their chances of improving on last season. The Warriors are missing a key player of their own as they’re still without Klay Thompson, but their confidence must be high after taking down the revamped Lakers despite a poor shooting night from Curry. The Clippers still have a good enough team to make light work of the lesser teams in the league, but the Warriors are a team on the rise again and with this game being played at the Chase Center, I think they can make it two straight wins to start their season.
