The Dallas Mavericks invade the AT&T Center to take on the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night.

The Dallas Mavericks have been playing well as they’ve won seven of their first 11 games overall, but they will be eager to bounce back in this spot after having their three-game win streak halted by the Bulls in a 117-107 road loss on Wednesday. Kristaps Porzingis led the team with 22 points and 12 rebounds, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 21 points while Luka Doncic chipped in with 20 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and four steals. As a team, the Mavericks shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line, but their defense was the issue as they fell behind at halftime after allowing 61 points in the first half, before falling behind by as many as 18 points in the third quarter where the Bulls exploded for 34 points.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in decent shape as they’ve won two of their past three games and they will be looking to stay hot after burning the Kings in a 136-117 home win on Wednesday. Dejounte Murray led the team with 26 points and seven assists, Drew Eubanks added 18 points, Doug McDermott and Thaddeus Young each scored 17 points while Bryn Forbes and Lonnie Walker each scored 15 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 53 percent from the field and 18 of 32 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates to an early double-digit lead after pouring in 71 points in the first half where they led by as many as 25 points.

Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, 1-7 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Spurs are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the under is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings overall and the Mavericks are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in San Antonio.

The Mavericks were on a nice run before getting stopped in their tracks by the red-hot Bulls on Wednesday, so they will be keen to get back in the win column against the Spurs who have yet to hit their stride this season. The Mavericks are just 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, but they are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings, so with the line so short, I have to lean towards the Mavericks to take care of business and escape with the narrow win and cover here.
