The Miami Heat pay a visit to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center on Wednesday night.

The Miami Heat have been on a nice run as they’ve won five of their past six games and they will be looking to stay hot after last night’s 100-92 road win over the Pistons. Tyler Herro led the team with 31 points, eight rebounds and three assists off the bench, while Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry each scored 15 points. As a team, the Heat shot 46 percent from the field and nine of 29 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the game and trailed by as many as 12 points in the third quarter, before Herro led the way in the fourth quarter where the Heat outscored the Pistons by 33-16 to escape with the comeback victory.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in decent form themselves as they’ve now reeled off four wins on the trot after blowing past the Pelicans in a 110-96 road win on Monday. Karl-Anthony Towns led the team with 28 points and 10 rebounds on 10 of 21 shooting, Anthony Edwards added 18 points while Jarred Vanderbilt chipped in with 16 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 40 percent from the field and 10 of 44 from the 3-pointline as they outscored the Pelicans by 38-21 in the second quarter to take a 16-point lead into halftime, before pushing the margin out to 26 points in the third quarter to put the game to bed early. D’Angelo Russell had a night to forget as he shot just three of 16 from the field and one of 10 from the 3-point line.

Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days’ rest, 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 games against a team with a losing record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Timberwolves are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the over is 6-0 in the last six meetings overall, the Heat are 1-4-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall and the Heat are 9-3-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Minnesota.

The Heat open as favorites in this one and for good reason as they’ve won five of their past six games, but the Timberwolves are starting to look dangerous now that they’re strung four wins together. It’s hard to split these two teams at the moment, but the Heat are playing this one on zero days’ rest and they were far from convincing in last night’s win over the Pistons as they didn’t click into gear until the fourth quarter. I don’t often side with the Timberwolves, but this looks like a good spot for them to pull off an upset.
