The Memphis Grizzlies play host to the Dallas Mavericks at the FedExForum on Friday night.
The Dallas Mavericks have been in great form as they’ve won seven of their past nine games overall, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after having their six-game win streak halted by the Knicks in a 108-85 road loss on Wednesday. Luka Doncic led the team with 21 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, Jalen Brunson added 14 points with seven rebounds and six assists while Tim Hardaway Jr. chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Mavericks shot 41 percent from the field and eight of 37 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the start and fell behind early after scoring just 21 points in the first quarter and things only got worse in the second half as Doncic just didn’t get enough support in this one. Maxi Kleber scored just nine points on three of 10 shooting while Dorian Finney-Smith scored just seven points on two of eight shooting.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been one of the hottest teams in the league for a while now as they’ve won 21 of their past 25 games overall and they will be eager to build on their current 11-game win streak after taking down the Timberwolves in a 116-108 home win last night. Desmond Bane led the team with 21 points, Jaren Jackson Jr. added 20 points with five blocks while Ja Morant chipped in with 16 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 45 percent from the field and eight of 32 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sloppy start and trailed at halftime, but they came out firing and flipped the game on its head with 37 points in the third quarter to set up the narrow win. Morant had a rough shooting night as he shot just five of 16 from the field and zero of seven from the 3-point line, but the Grizzlies got a nice spark off the bench from John Konchar who scored 15 points with 17 rebounds on six of seven shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team above .600 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 18-6 ATS in their last 24 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Memphis.

The Mavericks will again be without Kristaps Porzingis and Willie Cauley-Stein, while the Grizzlies will be missing Killian Tillie and Steven Adams. The Mavericks are coming into this game with plenty of momentum thanks in large to Doncic who has shouldered the load all season, but there’s just no ignoring the Grizzlies anymore as they’ve continued to pile on the wins on a nightly basis. I’m expecting a close contest as I’m sure Doncic will put up some big numbers, but I’m sticking with the Grizzlies to stay hot with another win and cover at home at the short line.
