The San Antonio Spurs play host to the Los Angeles Clippers at the AT&T Center on Saturday night.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost five of their past eight games and they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after having their two=game win streak halted by the Pelicans in a 113-89 road loss on Thursday. Terance Mann led the team in scoring with 15 points off the bench, Marcus Morris added 12 points on three of 14 shooting while Serge Ibaka and Brandon Boston Jr. each scored 10 points. As a team, the Clippers shot just 38 percent from the field and 10 of 34 from the 3-point line, but they were always fighting an uphill battle after scoring just 34 points in a nightmare of a first half. Things only got worse in the third quarter where the Pelicans poured in 34 points to put them behind by as many as 28 points. Reggie Jackson had a night to forget as he finished with just five points on two of 11 shooting while Amir Coffey has been the hot hand for the Clippers lately but scored just five points on two of seven shooting.
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in a real slump lately as they’ve lost nine of their past 10 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a five-game slide after getting stopped by the Cavaliers in a 114-109 home loss last night. Dejounte Murray led the team with 30 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists, Keldon Johnson added 18 points while Bryn Forbes chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Spurs shot 45 percent from the field and 15 of 34 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to overcome an early 11-point lead, only to see their hard work go to waste in the fourth quarter where they scored just six points in the final 6:03 to allow the Cavaliers to snatch the game from them late.
Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team below. 400 and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games against a team with a losing home record. The Spurs are 2-5 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall and the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in San Antonio.

The Clippers have been plagued by injuries and they will again be without Paul George, Luke Kennard, Justise Winslow and Isaiah Hartenstein while the Spurs are almost at full strength except for Derrick White who is out. The Clippers haven’t been able to build any momentum lately and their confidence took a major hit after getting thrashed by the Pelicans in their last outing .The Spurs are mired in their worst slump of the season, but they were more than competitive in their narrow loss to the Cavaliers and I think they can bounce back into form with a long-overdue win in this spot.
